Sorry I am late posting this it has been very busy with getting the kids back to school finally after all of the sickness and getting everything ready for the trick or treating yesterday........
Those of you that know Kevin, know him to be quite the tog fisherman. Growing up in Grosse Ile, Michigan his mom and he did their fair share of perch fishing. I think that is where his love for bottom fishing began. I would have to say that out of all the different types of fishing bottom fishing is his favorite and then schoolie action of rockfish would be his second favorite. ...A few years back, we started this little contest concerning the the person on the boat who pulled in the largest tog for that day received the honorable title of "Tog Master" . Kevin was the first person to achieve that title at the M&m with a 6 1/2 lber and he maintained it for a while until Katie took it away last March with a 7lber 3 ozer and then I stole it in April with a 8lb 3ozer and then proceeded to catch limit in the next 15 minutes. I blame that one on waiting so long to achieve the Tog Master status.. after all I had to let them know that I meant business that day. Well this past Friday Kevin regained the title of "tog master" with a 10lb 8ozer when soon after that he was trumped by Katie with a slam dunking eleven pounder.........
AND now for the fishing report.......
The Tog Master is at it again! Oct 28, 2009 Just around 10:30 am We headed out to the CBBT to investigate the tog bite despite the wind predictions. We literally got tossed around near the pylons for a good hour and a half before the first tog was even boated. It became hard to keep our balance at times and we both were taking turns protecting the boat from rubbing up. Bite was very off today probably from all the wind today and the last few days. I dropped a 4/0 treble with crab and had a nice fight with a 23 inch tog. Got him to the boat and debated. Should I toss him back and get a release citation or keep him for a great dinner.

Since we had not boated any other fish up till now I figured I would keep it. Besides, my parents 42nd wedding anniversary is here and one of their favorite fish to eat is tog. I freeze it and mail it to them periodically. So the meat already had a "home".
Forty minutes went by and no more takers so we went to another location. Normally we would have hopped to many more pylons by now with the bite being slow but the current and wind made it difficult to anchor and re-anchor. Despite the wind and lack of play some how the "Tog master did it again!. We arrived at the new location and within 10 minutes WHAM! Fish on. 9 lbs 4oz citation. NICE ONE! Shortly after that we came back home, and I took a quick photo of the Lynnhaven Inlet (see pictures below)
